These coaxial packaged RF amplifiers cover UHF, VHF, L, S and C frequency bands

Pasternack expands offering of solid-state high-power amplifiers

    06/09/2015

Pasternack, a leading manufacturer and supplier of RF, microwave and millimeter wave products, has introduced a new portfolio of solid state, high power amplifiers. These coaxial packaged RF amplifiers cover UHF, VHF, L, S and C frequency bands and are widely employed in applications such as electronic warfare, instrumentation, military communications, radar, SATCOM, telecom, data links, medical devices and many others.

Pasternack’s latest release of high performance RF amplifiers includes 22 models with output power levels greater than 10 watts that cover broadband frequencies from 150 kHz to 7500 MHz. Solid state 50 ohm hybrid MIC designs use GaN, GaAs or LDMOS transistor technology that offers high dynamic range and allows gain levels ranging from 40 to 60 dB. The typical gain variation of these amplifiers is ±1.5 dB. Some amplifier models have output P1dB levels ranging from +10 to +50 watts, while some devices have output saturated power levels (Psat) ranging from +40 to +50 dBm.

All of the high power amplifiers in this product family have single voltage supplies which are internally regulated and the circuits are enclosed in environmentally sealed metal packages. These rugged coaxial packages withstand environmental conditions like humidity, altitude, shock and vibration and each module is designed with stainless steel SMA female connectors. Each SSPA from Pasternack is classified as EAR99.

“Pasternack offers designers one of the most comprehensive selections of high performance SSPA’s, which focus on UHF to C band frequencies for a variety of applications in multiple markets,” explains Tim Galla, Active RF Components Product Manager at Pasternack. “These high gain, high power modules utilize leading edge semiconductor technology, with the benefit of high efficiency and high dynamic range.”
