Three months prior to the event, the increased number of exhibitors is a tribute to the positive development of PCIM Europe. Overall, more than 450 exhibitors from 28 nations will be present in Nuremberg from 16 – 18 May 2017.
In focus: The entire value chain
Numerous new exhibitors and key players in power electronics such as Infineon, Mitsubishi and Semikron offer an extensive market overview. They showcase product innovations and introduce current trends and developments in the industry. At PCIM Europe 2017, the entire value chain of power electronics is represented, the portfolio ranging from component to control and packaging to intelligent system.
Conference as “think tank”
The exhibition is flanked by the user-oriented and practical PCIM Europe conference. Experts from industry and science report on new developments and future-oriented topics in more than 100 presentations and more than 200 poster sessions, each one an initial publication. Furthermore, the speakers initiate specialist discussions and are available for any queries on the part of the conference participants.
Every day, top-level keynotes (e.g. by Ionel Dan Jitaru, Rompower Energy Systems, USA) allow participants an insight into the future of power electronics. This year’s conference highlights are three special sessions on “Passive Components”, “Capacitors” and “Measurement Technologies with Focus on High/Low Power”.
Industry and exhibitor forum: additional platform for knowledge transfer
In 2017, the PCIM Europe exhibition offers a varied program in two different forums. At the industry forum, associations, experts from specialized media as well as from renowned companies discuss issues within the area of power electronics which are moving the sector at present. For instance, Pierric Gueguen, Business Unit Manager Power Electronics and Compound Semiconductors at Yole Développement in Lyon, talks about “Status and Perspectives in Power Semiconductor Business” and Richard Reiner, scientist from the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics IAF in Freiburg, will address the subject “Monolithically-Integrated GaN Circuits”. During all three exhibition days, the exhibitor forum informs visitors about product highlights in the power electronics sector in twenty-minute presentations.
