SEGGER’s leading line of J-Link debug probes can now be used to both download a program into and debug Allegro MicroSystems MCUs. With J-Link support comes the Ozone multi-platform debugger, as well as the Flasher family of professional in-circuit programmers for production programming and use by service technicians.

Also available is SEGGER’s complete development ecosystem. This includes Embedded Studio; SystemView; cutting-edge software libraries for connectivity, security, data compression/storage, and the Internet of Things; and emPower OS — a complete operating system for creating embedded systems.

Allegro MicroSystems is a global semiconductor player and leader in sensor and analog power integrated circuits for a wide range of automotive, industrial, and infrastructure applications, and Allegro products offer solutions for meeting the demanding needs of these markets. Among the latest additions to the Allegro portfolio are the A89211, A89212, and A89224 system-on-chip devices for three-phase brushless DC and permanent-magnet-synchronous-motor motor-control applications. These devices integrate a high-performance ARM® Cortex®-M4 processor core, with up to 256 KB of flash memory; a versatile three-phase gate-drive unit; and additional peripherals for efficient and precise motor-control applications.

“We are pleased with this partnership, as this means that developers using our A892XX family of products now have access to the SEGGER ecosystem,” says Christoph Stangl, Product Marketing Manager for Motor Drivers, Allegro MicroSystems. “SEGGER’s line of J-Link debug probes makes debugging easier and faster, while their family of Flashers makes production more efficient. This partnership is a great way to make innovations from both of our companies available to more customers.”

“Allegro brings fresh momentum to the embedded market, and we are pleased to announce this collaboration,” says Hendrik Sawukajtis, Managing Director, SEGGER. “Their innovative solutions drive key functions in automotive, industrial, and data-center applications, and we’re proud to contribute to their development ecosystem. With our high-performance, reliable debug probes, we help engineers streamline development and reduce time to market.”

SEGGER’s J-Links are the tools of choice for many developers around the world. Known for their speed, reliability, and versatility, the probes offer download speeds of up to 4 MB/s, the ability to set an unlimited number of breakpoints in MCU flash memories, SEGGER’s Real Time Transfer (RTT) technology, and much more. Their ease of use makes them suitable for any user — from the professional commercial developer to the hobbyist benefiting from SEGGER's Friendly License.
