No surprise here – COVID-19 has sacked every trade show, event, and gathering for the foreseeable future, so EDS had no prayer. The Electronic Distributors Summit (EDS) board of directors has officially cancelled its 2020 conference.

EDS is held each year in Sin City, Las Vegas (lately, something of a ghost town), and with annual attendance of 4,000+, the Electronic Distributors Summit would make “social distancing” kinda difficult.

The 2020 summit was scheduled to be held at the Mirage Resort in Las Vegas, May 11 – 15.

“We’ve all been watching the fast-moving developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and we decided to be proactive for obvious reasons,” said EDS board member Robert Logan. “The most important aspect of this decision is the health and well-being of our fellow industry citizens. To that end, the board along with our sponsoring associations have decided to cancel EDS 2020.”

EDS joins APEC, PCIM Europe, Mobile World Congress, and South by Southwest in the growing list of professional conferences that’ve either been scuttled or postponed because of the coronavirus.
