Vishay TPC11CA to TPC36CA Surface Mount TVS

Vishay's tiny 1500W bi-directional SMT PAR transient voltage suppressors now at TT

    01/09/2017

The industry’s first bi-directional 1500W surface-mount PAR transient voltage suppressors (TVS) in a low-profile eSMP® SMPC (TO-277A) package are now available in Europe at TTI, Inc., a world leading specialist distributor of electronic components. Vishay TPCxxCA Series devices have a low profile of typically just 1.1mm, (around 52% lower than the traditional SMC package) and a 38% smaller footprint. Combined with high power density, Vishay’s TPCxxCA Series TVS enable designers to save board space and reduce costs. Typical applications include protection of sensitive electronics against voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lightning on ICs, MOSFETs, and signal lines of sensor units for automotive, consumer, computer, industrial and telecommunication equipment.

The Vishay TPC11CA to TPC36CA Surface Mount TVS feature a junction passivation optimised patented PAR® construction, with a temperature range of −65degC to +185degC. Bi-directional breakdown voltage is from 11V to 36V and clamping capability is excellent at 15.6V to 49.9V. Further benefits include low leakage current and exceptionally fast response times. Vishay TPC11CA to TPC36CA Surface Mount TVS are ideal for automated placement and meet MSL level 1 standards per J-STD-020, as well as being RoHS-compliant and halogen-free. The devices are available in AEC-Q101-qualified versions.
