    12/05/2013

The winners of the Innovation Awards for the Automation Industry have been announced at an awards ceremony held as part of the SPS IPC Drives conference. The top prize went to Werner Kraus of the Fraunhofer IPA and his paper on “The Energy Efficiency of Parallel Cable Robots”, followed by Michael Homann of the Technical University of Braunschweig, with his presentation on “Aspects of Current Measurement in Induction Machines with Delta Sigma Convertors”. Henning Osterfeld of Bosch Rexroth AG took the third prize with his insight into “Modular Energy Management through Object Oriented SPS-Programming Techniques”.

The Committee Chairs, Prof. Georg Frey of the University of Saarland, Prof. Walter Schumacher of the Technical University of Braunschweig and Prof. Alexander Verl of Stuttgart University / Fraunhofer IPA, congratulated the three winners on the high quality content of each paper, their topicality and relevance to practice.

As well as presenting their paper at the SPS IPC Drives conference and seeing it published in the proceedings, the three prize winners will receive prize money of 3,000 Euro, 2,000 Euro and 1,000 Euro respectively.

The Innovation Awards for the Automation Industry is sponsored by the event organiser, Mesago Messemanagement GmbH.
