Lagonda's Electric SUV is Absolutely Gorgeous

Lagonda just unveiled the coolest SUV of all time.

According to the company, the vehicle will be the “first luxury SUV exclusively driven by zero emission powertrain technologies and will uphold all the qualities of the reinvented super-luxury marque.”

If you didn’t know, Lagonda has been owned by Aston Martin since 1947, and that’s abundantly clear with this vehicle. Lagonda’s zero-emission SUV is a thing of beauty – a mishmash of futuristic design methodologies, function, and pure style. At first glance, it doesn’t even look like an SUV – more like one of the cars from Back to the Future II or Minority Report.

But Lagonda’s SUV isn’t just a pretty face – the V8 contraption is supposedly a “high-performance 4×4,” and, according to Aston Martin President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andy Palmer, “The Lagonda SUV is the first of its kind: a spacious, high-performance 4×4 that successfully reconciles a love of technology, luxury and style.”

It also adheres to Aston Martin’s “Vision Concept,” first unveiled at the 2018 Geneva motor show.

Sadly, tech specs are pretty sparse, other than utilizing an “advanced Battery Electric drivetrain” and being zero-emission.

Of course, a luxury vehicle like Lagonda’s SUV doesn’t need energy efficiency or performance – it already has a built-in audience of well-to-do patrons who see it as much of a status symbol as environmental boon. Let’s face it – this isn’t for most of us (nor is the vast majority of Aston Martin’s portfolio).

But I can’t help but marvel at how gorgeous this SUV looks, and I never thought I’d use ‘gorgeous’ and ‘suv’ in the same sentence.
