Hate looking at your TV when it’s inert and have more money than you know what to do with? C SEED has the ultimate solution – a 165-inch microLED folding display that disappears into the floor when not in use.

For some reason, the old saw “if you have to ask, you can’t afford it” seems applicable. Because if you’ve read that first paragraph and want a C SEED M1, its $400,000 price tag probably won’t scare you away.

Heck, the target audience for this “latest evolution in luxury AV technology” might consider the entry fee redundant.

Even the promo video makes no bones about the kinda home (and homeowner) where you’d find this – an opulent beachfront property with a spacious interior that looks straight out of MTV Cribs (sue me, I’m old) that could probably accommodate a conventional 300-inch TV. As the camera pans around, the M1 rises from the floor and slowly unfolds into a 165-inch 4k microLED juggernaut.

I won’t lie – the tech is fascinating. To be clear, the TV doesn’t “fold” like a piece of paper. It’s more like a multi-panel display that unfurls into one cohesive screen. But unlike the jumbotrons you see in stadiums, the M1 uses something called Adaptive Gap Calibration to eliminate any seam lines or rough edges.

Just don’t forget who this is for – not me and not the majority of consumers.

“Trendsetting contemporary uncluttered, free from all visual ballast. In these environments, big wall-mounted TV screens are an anachronism in modern interior design,” says C SEED Managing Partner, Alexander Swatek.

“The M1 provides unique entertainment in brilliant quality without compromising the character of a room.”

I can’t say I’ve ever thought about hiding my TV altogether (or storing it in my floor), but the closest I’d ever get to something like this is a trade show.
