EV charging is increasingly coming to you. While several providers are building out the charging infrastructure, with electric stations spread strategically across the globe, retailers are starting to add them for eco-conscious shoppers.

The latest — Radisson Hotel Group has tapped PowerGo to provide EV charging stations at 300 European hotels.

This isn’t exactly a novelty — hotel giants like Marriott and Hilton (including Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas) have numerous properties equipped with EV charging infrastructure.

And retailers have been steadily getting into the electric game, with Walmart, Whole Foods, Cinemark, IKEA, Walgreens, Kohl’s, Macy’s, and even 7-11 (amongst others) offering electric stations at select locations.

But every little bit helps — especially with hotels, which aren’t exactly known for being energy-conscious.

Apparently, PowerGo’s first eight charging stations will be at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Oslo and will be completed this month.

And according to PowerGo’s Chief Technology Officer, Ivo van Dam, “for each location, we determine whether AC chargers, fast chargers, or a combination of both is most suitable so that we can meet the needs for each specific hotel’s charging infrastructure.”

Inge Huijbrechts, Global SVP of Sustainability, Security and Corporate Communications at Radisson Hotel Group, added that, “The cooperation with PowerGo will help us go beyond the 700+ EV chargers currently installed in our hotels and reach our aim to equip all eligible hotels in Europe and beyond with EV charging facilities by 2025.”
