As EV charging stations dot the landscape, they’ve become crucial landmarks – hence Google’s interest. Google Maps can now route you to the nearest EV charging stations.

A new update for Google Maps Android and iOS apps draws upon the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Alternative Fueling Station Locator to pinpoint the closest EV charging stations.

A quick search for “ev charging” or “ev charging stations” displays the closest supported stations, and according to a Google blog post, it also breaks down where the station is located, the types of ports available, charging speeds, and how many ports there are.

    Supported stations include the following:

    Global: Tesla, Chargepoint

    US: SemaConnect, EVgo, Blink

    UK: Chargemaster, Pod Point

    AU & NZ: Chargefox
